dj hawey – Deejay, Sound & Light

DJ whaaaaat?!

DJ Hawey is my best friend. He rents out light and soundequipment and on weekends he is DJing at various parties/weddings/clubs. To reach a wider audience, I already did a website for him. Recently he made a bigger investment and bought 8 moving heads. Since i wanted to gain experience in filming, I offered him to do a small advertisement with his new equipment. The final result is a short 40 seconds clip, done with my “old” Canon EOS 550D. I have bought a new camera, the Panasonic Lumix GH4, and from now on I will only film in 4k :).

Focus of the ad are the 8 x Showtec Phantom 225 LED Spot with custom made Gobos (logos/images/patterns, which are projected on a wall or floor). With a small additional charge, you can get your own custom Gobo while renting the moving heads!

Do you need a DJ? Or just lightequipment? Or soundequipment? Everything together? Ask DJ Hawey! His website: http://www.hawey.ch

Details

The whole recording session was unplaned and done spontaneously. It took us 2 weeks from the initial idea to the finished product. Problems already started, when we were brainstorming about locations. Where could we shoot that, without renting anything? Where can we set up 8 moving heads and where do we get the electricity from? Where can we achieve lighteffects with our fog machine? Finally we found something: Namics! We shot everything in at the entrance at Namics, where I usually work as a software engineer :). Thanks Tim Dührkoop for your help and support!
